last ride of the year

i pulled the busa out for a spin christmas eve figuring it might be the last ride of the year due to the snowmagedon weekend forecast: we barely got a dusting here in dc. but, with 29 mph sustained winds and gusts @ 50mph right now and thru this week, i probably wont be back on for a couple of weeks at least...cant wait for daytona.

the marines have been around for 235 years today: happy birthday... originally organized after the revolutionary war in 1775 to protect the 13 colonies, the marines have more than earned there cake. and, if they are eating cake today, maybe that will make the news...or maybe a marine's rendition of a beyonce or lady gaga song will be shown: i have yet to see in any headline the fact that the 'darkhouse' third battalion fifth of the marines is in a horrendous battle in afghanistan AT THIS MOMENT and have had thirteen members killed since last month. this story must have been buried between lindsey lohan and mel gibson updates.

went to a weekend bike (and car) show in white stone...there were three bikes there:

hayabusa evolution: part one

i got the busa back from its shop, and frankly: i couldnt be happier. the new stripped down version is super fast and super cool...a swing arm lengthening is coming next...i promised the wife i would sell the zodiac to fund it though: know anyone who wants to buy a boat?

uhmmm...possible gridlock warning to everyone in the washington dc metro area: there will be a 'march' on washington this weekend involving bikers...really old bikers: tea baggers, er, tea party-ers, i mean. after dealing with this slow moving geriatric crowd of angry-ness the weekend before last during glen beck's hate rally, i am not looking forward to a crew of dazed and confused two wheelers attempting to navigate the nation's capital during the black family reunion. whatever...maybe they will realize that here in dc, everybody gets along. just in case you are interested, the speakers are top conservatives (?)ginni thomas of liberty central, best selling author larry schweikart, ned ryan of american majority, lori parker from'as a mom',and many more!

epic fail in california

as i reported yesterday, im having a little work done on my beautiful busa... as reported in today's ama blog, california aims to stop future enhancment projects: specifically anything-but stock exhaust systems! what? riders from cali should make their opinion known...asap!

hayabusa evolution

the new busa is at its shop getting some adjustments...new exhaust system...frame sliders...rear end dropped 2"...front end lowered 3/4 of an inch...i think an air shifter is next.

the qualifying is over and the superbike racing has begun on the isle of man. suzuki has two of the five top spots: nice.

i have been wanting to ride the tail of the dragon since i heard about...and for my birthday, i did it! the entire trip down to deal's gap was windier than i anticipated, but the dragon was crazy curvy!
